About

When I first started this blog this was what I wrote about me:

“I am an aspiring actress who is having trouble getting an agent because of my size. Now, it’s not like I am huge or anything but neither am I a near anorexic little thing who barely weighs 100lbs soaking wet. I need to find a happy middle, somewhere I am thin enough to get an agent and auditions but not so thin I am sick. Does that place even exist? I am going to find out! I hope to be the Amazing Shrinking Woman! This blog will hold me accountable for my actions ie. what I stuff in my face and what exercise I don’t do. It is my hope writing out what I go thru in my attempt to lose weight will help keep me focused and on track…keep your fingers crossed for me! πŸ™‚ ”

Then I had a bunch of side notes and this “About Me” section quickly became ridiculous.

So let me tell you about myself, I am an actress who recently became agentless and is yet again on the hunt for a new agent. I know right? lol This blog has evolved over time and isn’t really about my weight loss, or my journey with Weight Watchers anymore. Now I write about whatever I want, recipes (mostly baking, I love to bake!), dragon boating (I compete), Christmas (the Christmas obsession is real people), the cat I live with, random funny things that happen in life, hiking, book reviews. I mean really, if you scroll through the five most recent posts you’ll probably see mention of almost all the things I just listed, and even a bit more!

I write to entertain, so no politics or religion here, though I will become quite patriotic for Canada Day and post something about how much I love being in Canada, but hey, that’s only once a year, surely you can handle that?

So grab a cup of tea, sit back, and enjoy the musings I send out in to my little section of the internet. And hey, if you know of an agent looking to add to their roster, lemme know! πŸ˜‰

Good morning ISW. I happen to stumble into your corner of the internet and find you quite refreshing.I started WW in 1988 and earned my lifetime pin in ’89.A few yrs. ago I attended a meeting with a friend. I thought I would be received/ with open arms and accolades for having kept the weight off all these yrs! To my surprise I was chastised and all but drummed out of the meeting for not following the new program!…lol Well I’ve never gone back but still follow the old program whenever I need to lose a few. WW works! So here I go again..gonna hop on the WW bus! Good luck and God blessπŸ€—

Hi! So sorry for the late reply, I live a ridiculously boring life now, thanks to the pandemic, and never seem to have anything to write about, so I’m not on here as much as I used to be. Things are opening up though so I plan on being here more *crossing fingers* That’s crazy you weren’t congratulated for doing so well for all those years, ugh. If you ever want a WW buddy who isn’t actually following the newest program lemme know lol πŸ™‚

    Hi, Shrinking Woman,

I’m writing you today to ask if you would share info about my doctoral dissertation with your network through email or a blog post. I’m looking for volunteers to take a survey on partner undermining of weight loss (I only need 15 more people for this round of recruiting!)

While it’s hard losing weight on your own, it’s not necessarily easier with a spouse or partner. Sometimes partners/spouses undermine weight loss through acts like complaining about healthier food, gifting high-caloric foods, or even through abusive language/acts. I’m creating an anonymous, online survey to assess for partner undermining and to learn more from those who experience it.

To be eligible to take the survey, participants need to have experienced this in their current relationship (of at least the past 2 years), and have been participating in a weight loss program for the past 5 consecutive weeks. For more info, see http://tinyurl.com/Clark-Study. Participants who complete the survey may opt to enter a drawing for $100.

Thanks in advance for your help!
    Amanda

Have you considered a raw vegetarian diet? works for me

    • shrinkingwmn February 15, 2014 at 1:01 am #

Hi! I briefly tried a raw veg diet because it worked so well for a friend of mine, for me it was a disaster lol I lasted about 4 days before I cracked lol I really need my meat and peanut butter and carbs *rolls eyes* or I become a cranky cranky person.
That’s great it works for you though, you must have wicked strong will power! πŸ™‚

Hello, Nice to meet you. I am vertically challenged. I would be the perfect weight if I was MUCH taller. So think we will get along well. I look forward for following your blog.

Hi! Great to meet you too. πŸ™‚ I’d love a little more height to make me thinner also, but unfortunately I am not vertically challenged and any more height would make me a giant lol I took a look at your blog and it looks great, can’t wait to get more tips to help me organize. πŸ™‚
