Cupcakes and Ice Cream Cake…So Cruel

8 Jul

This is gonna be short cause I just finished painting my nails (purple this time!) and I don’t wanna ruin them on the keys. lol. Priorities, ya know?

Today went fairly well, all kinds of stupid drama at work – why do grown women act like they are still in high school? I just don’t get it! Ah well, today is over so no use thinking about it anymore.  Mini cupcakes were brought in as a treat for us; I couldn’t find the exact nutrtitional information for them – go figure a company that creates something oh so yummy but oh so bad for you doesn’t provide you the nutritional info *rolls eyes* – so I googled nutritional info for bakery cupcakes and found a site that was sorta useful. I don’t know how close to correct the info was but I used it as if it was accurate and it completely put me off wanting a cupcake. lol. They are so bad for you, a mini cupcake is approx 8 points!!! 8 POINTS!!! Can you believe that? See why I was put off it? lol Oh, and fyi, I called Cupcakes (anyone in the lower mainland of BC knows what company I am talking about) and the people in the store are not helpful (or all that friendly) when you call to ask for nutritional info. The website is fun though, it is: http://www.cupcakesonline.com/cupcakes.php and while I can bake a better cupcake the experience of being in the store is fun. 🙂

Oh, and a work associate brought AL an ice cream cake (not Dairy Queen) as a thank you for work she had done for him. Very nice of him, I mean who doesn’t like ice cream cake on a warm summer day? but I also had to avoid that. I didn’t even look at the cake, lol, just avoided it and told AL to not bring me a piece (she was nice enough she was cutting it up and bringing everyone a piece to their desks). AC, the girl I sit next to said she was impressed with how firm I am with my diet, I never take any of the tempting stuff at work and am always counting my points. I hadn’t realized how long I had been doing this for, this saturday will be my third week counting points. Pretty sweet huh?!

On to a little something I was reminded about because of the nice weather we have been having. It is a myth that sitting in a sauna helps you lose weight; you may lose some water weight but it will come back as soon as you eat or drink something. The reason I mention that is because I know a lot of women that think when it is hot out and you sweat just walking down the block you can eat or drink higher calorie things because “you’ll sweat it off”. Some people reading this will be wondering “what kind of fools think that”, others reading this will be thinking that “yeah that is right”. Sadly, it is wrong. Just because you are delicately sweating away under that patio umbrella does not mean you can order that third large Pina Colada and have it not count.  It counts! So if you really want that third Pina Colada you better have a low point lunch and dinner so you can make room for it…oh, and grab a taxi home! lol

So let’s see what I ate today:

3/4 cup Almond Special K = 2 points

1/2 cup 1% milk = 2 point

1 banana = 2 points

1 bowl Weight Watchers Veggie Soup = 0 points

1 english muffin = 3 points

2 triangles of Laughing Cow Light Cheese = 1 point

1 orange = 1 point

1 cup blackberries = 1 point

1 Eating Right hamburger patty = 4 points

1 Kraft cheese slice = 1 point

1 package Easy Mac = 5 points

mixed veggies = 0 points

That sits me at 21 points. 🙂 I am going to have a cup of 1% milk when my typing is done to finish up my last two points, and voila! Another succesful day! lol.

I didn’t even forget to add in the marg I would normally put on the english muffin, the Laughing Cow cheese is spreadable so I used one triangle to spread on the muffin, creating a tasty muffin and not using up even more points. Sneaky!

That low point lunch meant I got to have a big dinner, it was yummy and I really enjoyed the kraft dinner but I broke another cardinal rule…I ate fast. Now, I didn’t eat fast because I was starved and couldn’t control myself or anything, I ate fast cause while I was eating I had two loaves of banana bread in the oven and the timer was set to go off in 4 minutes so I wanted to eat as much as I could while the food was at optimal temps. Bad move cause after I was done, even though I knew I had eaten a lot and was full I didn’t feel full. I wish it didn’t take my stomach 20 minutes to tell my brain it’s full…what’s with that time delay? Eesh! Since I knew I was full and that my brain just hadn’t clued in I had a glass of water to tide me over. It worked, I drank my umpteenth glass of water today and didn’t eat anymore food. Yah!

Look at that, typed a long post anyways and didn’t even chip a nail! Girls rock! lol
