Early Turkey Dinner

One of the companies we work with treats us oh so well. 😀 They bring in food for us quite a bit – usually pizza, but hey, it’s the thought that counts. lol. So today they brought in lunch for us and it was so nice! The lunch was held in one of the larger meeting rooms, they put fancy table cloths on the table, used real dishes and silverware, there were even the Christmas Crackers – you know, the ones you pull apart and you get a silly toy a joke and a crown hat? teehee. There was turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and veggies (the veggies were parsnips, carrots and squash – all roasted) YUM!! There was also champagne and dessert was a variety of tarts, brownies, cookies etc.

The plan was to eat lots of vegg and not too much of the rest, lol, that was before I got in there and could smell everything! Altho, I don’t think I did too poorly. I had a small amount of everything and put some cranberry sauce on the side and some gravy on the turkey…I mean come on, you can’t skip the cranberry sauce and gravy! Oh, when I say everything I don’t include dessert in that, I didn’t touch the tarts etc. – lemme tell ya, that was hard cause I was still hungry! lol

I can’t decide if I was still hungry cause I was actually hungry or if it was a mental thing. shrug. I always have a huge plate of food when it’s a turkey dinner…after all it only happens once a year, lol, but this time not so much so it may have been a mental thing since those around me had plates piled with food and they went back for just as large portions of seconds…I was feeling deprived, which is silly cause I ate a bit of everything…but not in the quantity I wanted. sigh.

Today I ate:

50 grams Shreddies = 3 points

1/2 cup 1% milk = 1 point

*turkey = 1/2 cup = 2 points

*mashed potatoes (= 1/2 cup = 2 points) = 4 points

*stuffing = 1/2 cup = 4 points

roasted veggies = 0 points

2 timbits = 4 points

1 Fiesta Salad = 5 points

1 Thinsations chocolate covered pretzels = 2 points

So about 25 points eaten…could be worse! lol.

The foods with * are approximate points values, I got the numbers from the Weight Watchers food book. I doubled what they say mashed potatoes are because these ones were uber creamy and  I feel they must have been very bad for me. lol. I took super small portions of everything since I wasn’t able to actually measure anything so I am fairly confident that my guesstimates for points are accurate-ish. 😛

This whole week I have had a constant low grade sensation of hunger, it sucks. I am not sure why it’s happening, I am eating my points and today I went over, but, shrug, hunger pains. It’s almost 10pm where I am and I could so go for some toast, or even a small meal! Ridiculous! Every night I have gone to bed feeling hungry and woken up the same way, 😛 ick. I hope whatever this is it passes quickly, and I sure hope the scale on saturday shows I am down cause at least then this constant hungry feeling will be worth it! lol
