Three Yoghurts and a Soup…and Pie

Sorta fell off the wagon with my writing on here, sorry!

So since my last post I have eaten three more of the American yoghurts and one soup.

I’ll just write about these in the order I ate them, ok? 🙂

Harvest Peach

The first of the three is Harvest Peach, it is one of the Weight Watchers yoghurts so it was 2 points and does not contain aspartame…not that I actually care about that, I mean c’mon, I drink so much diet coke half my blood is probably aspartame lol 😉

Anyways…it was good, not oh-my-god-amazing or anything but good. It tasted like peaches, which is the point of the flavour so points to them for that lol

I think the reason I am not raving about it is because it was my night time snack waaaay back on Monday after I had some totally delicious banana cream pie for dinner.

Yes you read that right lol I’m trying to feel guilty or ashamed by the fact that I had pie for dinner but I don’t, shrug. A friend at work made me a personal sized banana cream pie when she found out it is my favourite type of pie, how awesome is that!

I don’t know if you can tell the size of the pie from that picture, the blue dish it is resting on is a dinner plate, the medium sized one that comes in a set, so it wasn’t a full size pie at all. It was pretty much perfect for one person. 🙂

I’m pretty sure anything I ate after the pie would have gotten a review of “ok” cause how do you beat banana cream pie? The answer is you don’t! lol

The next yoghurt was…

Boston Cream Pie! Because apparently I was on a pie kick lol Actually I pick them randomly from the fridge so I never know what flavour I am getting next.

Not gonna lie, I had high hopes for this one since Boston Cream Pie is my favourite doughnut. I’ve never actually had a slice of Boston Cream Pie so the only thing I had to compare the yoghurt to was the doughnut and well, no, just no. The yoghurt tasted so fake, it wasn’t at all like the doughnut, just spoonful after spoonful of artificial taste. It is like when you buy a cheap advent calendar at Christmas and the chocolate is the super cheap gross kind and it doesn’t even taste like chocolate even an itty bitty bit, it just tastes like chemicals. This yoghurt was like that. Yuch.

I guess the only way it can redeem itself an itsy bitsy bit is that it is one of the Weight Watcher yoghurts so it is only 2 points.

Things got better though, don’t despair!

Zesty Southwestern Style Vegetable Soup

I had a soup, Mmm! I love soup!

This is a Progresso Light Zesty Southwestern Style Vegetable soup and so far it has been the best of all of them. It lived up to the “zesty” without being overwhelmingly spicy and the vegetables were cut in to these nice big chunks. It was pretty much awesome and if this soup was sold where I live I would buy it frequently. It is Weight Watcher endorsed and is 2 points a serving, there are 2 servings in a can.

Then I had the happiness of having a yoghurt that was delish and not overshadowed by a home made pie lol

Key Lime Pie

Key Lime Pie yoghurt, whoever made this was a smart smart person lol I’ve never had Key Lime Pie so I have no idea if this lives up to the actual thing but I really enjoyed it. I find the Yoplait yoghurts taste best when they are citrus flavours. This is a Weight Watchers yoghurt so it is 2 points and definitely worth it! I was sad when I was done this one because it is the only one of its kind in my fridge, sigh. Why oh why didn’t I buy two of them? sigh. Guess I know for next time! 😛


Weigh In Day #2

Strap on your dancing shoes we got something to celebrate! Week 2 and I lost weight again!

Another 1.8 pounds gone! Seems to be my magic number. lol. 😀

It was a weird weigh in day; I woke up early, 9am (hey, on a saturday that is early!) and stumbled in to the washroom cause all that water I drank last night before bed really needed out. lol. 😛 I figured why not weigh myself since I was there so I stood on the scale and wtf?!?! It said I gained 0.2 pounds. Well, that was not a happy moment! I stumbled my way back to bed and tried to figure out what happened. Could my glasses account for the weight? Last week I had my contacts in. Did I go over my points and not realize it? I know I ate a lot of points at the night market at the beginning of the week but since then I hadn’t gone over my points at all so I should have been ok. Am I cursed? shrug. A lot of things went through the brain. I decided to go back to sleep cause I didn’t want to think about it anymore. All that work just to gain 0.2 pounds? What’s the point?

When I woke up again hours later I stayed in bed reading for a while (that’s my fave way to start a saturday) and tried to ignore the fact that apparently I am getting fatter. ugh. When I finally got up I decided to re-weigh myself and I was showing as being down the 1.8 pounds I am currently celebrating. WTF??? Here is what I figure; last week I weighed in late in the day, after lunch time, and when I weighed in the second time today it was closer to the same time…I think that matters. So from now on I am going to be weighing in early afternoon…no more of this morning weigh in crap. lol.

After seeing the smaller number I decided I needed to do something to celebrate. 🙂 It was suggested to me that every week when I weigh in I put $5 in a piggy bank and when I reach my goal weight take the money and celebrate (with something that isn’t food!) I thought I should be more strict, only weeks I lose weight will the money go in; after all it’s like a congrats thing, right, and I shouldn’t get the money if I don’t do well that week. Either way it’s a good suggestion. However, there was a mix up with my paycheque on friday and I didn’t get one so I don’t have any money to put in to a piggy bank this week, instead I decided to find something to treat myself with when I was out.  I so found something too! It is food related which is probably not a good thing but it’s healthy so it’s not as bad as it could be. lol. I found at M&M Meat Shop a raspberry fruit frozen bar, it’s like a fudgesicle but with raspberry instead. One bar is 2 points, I haven’t had one yet (I will eat it after I am done typing) but I think it’ll be a good addition to my food options. 🙂

Also, I thought why not get some sushi for my dinner? I should have the points available to me today, might as well use em. lol. I wanted to buy the sushi from Safeway while I was grocery shopping cause the sushi packages have the nutritional info on them, I never knew sushi could be so bad for you! In the weight watchers food book they give you points for certain sushi pieces (I will put what they write about sushi on a page so you can read it there) but when I calculate the points based on the nutritional info on the package, my reaction was “oh hell no!” I picked up the brown rice california roll, there are 8 in the package, it was 10 points!!!

Instead I got some Prawn Salad Wraps, there are 2 in a package and were 6 points. When I read the package I thought it was 3 points for both which seemed awsome, I should have realized it was too good to be true. lol. I double checked the nutritional info when I got home and realized that was 3 points per wrap; which really, isn’t so bad.

In the end I got two treats! The raspberry bars for later and the wraps for immediate. Worked out well. 🙂
Here’s what I ate today:
1 cup pineapple = 1 point
1 cup grapes = 1 point
1 Activia  yogurt Strawberry and Rhubarb flavour = 2 points
2 prawn salad wraps = 6 points
1 slush = 2 points
2 cups Kettle corn = 3 points
1 pepperoni pizza pop = 6 points
1 raspberry bar = 2 points
That puts me at my 23 points for the day. 🙂 I noticed that this past week I didn’t eat as much fruit as the weeks before so I am going to work at increasing my fruit intake; and my veggies. I bought two salmon steaks for this coming week to help inrease my protein since I don’t get as much of that as I should. lol. Really, I don’t think I get enough of any of the things I am s’posed to – if left to my own devices I would live off pasta. This week I will still keep to my points but I am going to try to eat a more balanced diet, I will try to have protein, veggies, fruit, dairy…all that stuff, on a daily basis. Don’t know exactly how this will work out but I guess I’ll find out! 🙂

Eating a cookie is a chore?? That’s so wrong!

I am having trouble using all my Weight Watchers points, who’d of thunk it? lol.

Before I was on Weight Watchers I would eat dinner (most days anyways) and after my huge dinner I would have a cup of tea and about a half hour or so after that a dessert of some kind. Not anything extravagant just some cookies or a package of Pocky maybe…whatever I happened to have around that was a little sweet. It was a little treat I really enjoyed. Well, the past couple days I have dinner, I have my tea, and then I am done…I don’t want anything else. No desire for a little sweet something, no hunger pangs making me want anything…nuthin! I still eat something – I mean, I kinda hafta since I have points left but I don’t really want anything. shrug. Weird. 😛

Last night I got busy with other things and didn’t remember till right before I was going to bed I still had 5 points left…5 Points!! That’s a lot, I can justify not eating 1 point…maybe 2 but not 5! I had to actually force myself to eat my cookies and drink my milk, ugh. If I could have gotten away with eating something a lot lighter I would have but everything lighter (ex. fruit) is too low in points and I’d have to eat way more of it to use up those stupid 5 points. Lame.

I can’t believe I actually had to force myself to eat a cookie…who does that?! Cookies are enjoyable, yummy, full of flavour and just bad enough for you that you automatically want more…and I had to practically choke them down. So so so wrong. *shakes head*

Today I ate a higher in points lunch cause I was going out after work and wasn’t sure when I would get to eat dinner; also, being all proactive an all I ate a yogurt right before I left work and cut up an apple to take with me so if I needed something to snack on while out I had food all ready for eating and wouldn’t be tempted to buy something at the food court. This whole planning ahead thing kinda rocks, not saying I will do it all the time but this time it paid off! The yogurt held me over till I was on my way home and I ate the apple while driving home thereby not stopping at any of the numerous fast food places I passed. Also, when I got home I didn’t dive in to the kitchen and make whatever the first thing I saw was and snack away on things the whole time the food was cooking. I was controlled enough to calculate my remaining points for the day and figure out the best dinner to have that would use my points. Creepy! 😛

I also found the best 1 point weight watchers snacks; they are from Safeway and come in bags with I am not sure how many pieces in it. They are little 1 point, 1 or 2 bite (depending on the size of your mouth, lol) chocolates etc. Basically really miniature chocolate bars. Todays was Coconut covered in Milk Chocolate, like a Bounty Bar…I fully savoured it, lol, made it last 4 whole bites and it was goooood! You can find a site about them at , I haven’t really checked out the site all that much but a quick glance shows they have way more variety then I had realized. I will have to keep an eye out for more.

So here is what I ate today:

3/4 cup Almond Special K = 2 points

1/2 cup 1% milk = 1 point

1 banana = 2 points

3/4 of a cup Brown Sugar and Bacon Baked Beans = 4.5 points

1 piece of toast = 2 points

1 cup cherries = 1 point

1 Activia Yogurt = 2 points

1 apple = 1 point

1/2 serving whole wheat pasta = 2.5 points

mixed veggies = 0 points

1/4 cup alfredo sauce = 2 points

2 triangles Laughing Cow Light Cheese = 1 point

1 peach = 1 point

1 Whitman’s Weight Watchers Chocolate = 1 point

Used all 23 points and ate them early enough I don’t feel full and icky before going to bed. Yah! 🙂 Oh, and in keeping with the proactive thing I made a second batch of dinner and have it in the fridge ready for tomorrows lunch. Awesome! Hmmm, it’s a little sad I get so excited about that…lol

I have also decided to not list my drinks in my food list unless they cost me points; there isn’t really a point to listing my tea and water when they don’t count for anything. Doesn’t mean I am not drinking though!
